Trades Generalist

The incumbent for this position will report to various New York State Parks throughout Niagara and Erie Counties, under the direct supervision of the Crew Supervisor and will be expected to perform various carpentry duties based on specific need for various jobs such as restoration/rehab of park buildings, construction, framing, and finishing of pole barns, salt sheds, picnic shelters, barns, floating docks, garages, and other park structures. The incumbent will also perform semi-skilled work in plumbing, electrical, masonry, and/or other trades of park facilities. The incumbent will also have to operate various equipment such as chain saws, trucks, stump grinders, chippers, tractors, and skid steers. The incumbent is expected to work with considerable independence as is typical of a craftsperson and employee in a leadership position.

Salary Range:
From $21.24 to $21.24 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Four years of full-time experience in a carpentry trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
