Summary:
Responsible for communicating with customers regarding financial responsibilities, billing, and insurance inquiries.
Promote and foster an atmosphere of empathy, passion, integrity, and commitment.
Assure timely collection of patient accounts.
Communicate with supervisor and senior staff on billing discrepancies.
Position
Responsibilities:
Answer customer billing phone calls.
Receive inbound and initiate outbound calls to and from customers in order to expedite and facilitate payments of accounts.
Review accounts for accuracy.
Resolve queries from customers.
Take payments and arrange payment plans as needed.
Document all communication with customers.
Conduct account reviews.
Reviews accounts for accuracy.
Review accounts for escalation to collections when necessary.
Research accounts for returned mailings.
Review account adjustments.
Invoice private pay customers for payment.
Relay any findings or trends to supervisor and senior staff members.
Other duties assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Government and Third-party insurance coverage guidelines and reimbursement.
Skilled in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion.
Skilled in written and verbal communication.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to constant change.
Ability to maintain and build constructive relationships that produce results.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Excellent organizational skills.
Good computer skills.
Position Requirements:
High school or GED required; some college preferred.
Experience preferred in medical reimbursement or medical office customer service.
Excel and Microsoft word experience.
