The Patient Service Coordinator:
Manages patient reports, orders, billing code information via H.

and directs and responds to telephone requests for patient care.
Sorts and distributes reports to designated departments, physicians and offices.
Photocopies reports and other documents for patient records, laboratory administration, policies, procedures and education.
Maintains diagnostic and billing code information; obtains missing information from ordering physicians.
Answers the phone and intercom.
Manually bills charges through the H.

, as needed.
Provides backup for laboratory secretary.
Call/fax lab results to ordering nursing station, office or physician.
Experience:
Familiarity with customer service methods, telephone etiquette, fax machine, lab terminology, knowledge of basic mathematics, use of calculator, typing/keyboard skills.
Marketing experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associates in Health Information Management or Medical Administrative Assistant OR 5 yrs.
