Director of Events and Sales

The Sheraton at the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, NY has an immediate opening for Director of Events (Conference Service Director). As the Director you will direct the day-to-day activities of the Catering and Conference Services team; train and motivate a team that is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing strategies. This role establishes a client base of organizations, associations and commercial business through direct outside sales efforts for the purpose of securing business for the hotel. You will achieve budgeted revenues and personal sales goals. You will help clients with menu planning, food and beverage coordination, table arrangements, decoration options, etc. and arrange all details of conventions and or catering events.
Responsible for all catering, from booking to execution and conference service from the time a contract becomes definite to execution.
Continued development of strategic action plans to enhance the operation of the Conference Services department.
Work closely with the VP of Sales, to monitor group pick-up and contractual attrition clauses and hotel room blocks
Further develop & maintain a constructive, harmonious and communicative working relationship with all supporting departments.
Facilitate leadership, daily BEO meeting, pre-convention meetings, yield meeting, F&B; operations meetings, Conference services and sales meeting and other meetings as required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel and/or conference services
